The PTF is working hard in preparation for the big FCS auction coming up on March 25. This is a huge undertaking, and we hope that everyone will take part in this important fund raising event. Each class is involved in some way to help provide items for the auction. As you receive requests for help from the various chairpersons, please determine how you can contribute.
Cancellations and delays are both necessary and inconvenient. The school board wants our families to know that the safety of our students, staff, and parents is the board’s highest concern. It is for that reason that the board made the decision to follow Miami Trace Schools with regard to weather-related cancellations. Miami Trace has spotters throughout the county who are out assessing road conditions in order to make the most informed decision concerning whether or not it is safe to be on the roads. The board recognizes that conditions can vary widely throughout the county, but feels that it is best to err on the side of caution. FCS will continue with this policy for this winter. The board is looking at what to do when Trace has a scheduled delay or is not having school but otherwise the school board will evaluate before next school year whether or not any adjustments should be made. We thank you for your understanding.
If you wish to receive text alerts regarding school closings or delays, please sign up by going to the school website for the link to Rained Out. If you do not sign up with Rained Out, you will not receive text alerts from the school.
Report cards were sent home this past Monday, January 9. If you would like to have a conference with your child’s/children’s teacher(s), please contact the school office to arrange a meeting time.
The PTF is sponsoring a school skating party on Saturday, January 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Admission is $2 and skate rental is $2. This will be a fun time for the entire school family.
